Assessing for Learning: Interpreting Data to Drive Student Learning

Description:

There are many schools that use ACER tests to collect important information and data about their student cohorts. This seminar aims to examine a range of common ACER assessment tests including Pat Reading, TORCH, Pat Maths and Pat Science to ensure the data collection is purposeful. Participants will be assisted in developing a more in-depth understanding of how to interpret the results of the tests. Discussions will center on the use of the scores and reports to identify areas of strengths and areas to develop in individual and group learning. Participants of this course will gain useful information on how to interpret data to drive useful information on how to interpret data to drive teaching and learning in their schools

Barbara Smith
Barbara Smith is an Education Consultant with ACER Press. Barbara has extensive secondary teaching experience and has held a range of school leadership roles. She is also a qualified careers counsellor. In her role with ACER Press, Barbara has conducted many workshops related to literacy and numeracy assessment, careers, and more recently implementation of the Friendly Schools & Families framework.

Car Parking:  There is 2 hour parking in the Safeway car park across the road or long-term car parking is available up Prospect Hill Road towards Trafalgar Road, Melways 59 K2.  We are also conveniently located next to the Camberwell Railway Station.  There is also all day car parking in the new The Well Centre in Burke Road for $8.00 per day - http://www.thewellatcamberwell.com.au/

Cancellations made up to seven days prior to the seminar will receive a full refund. Cancellations less than seven days prior to the seminar will be charged full seminar fee.
